ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:



  • Act as HR Business Partner to Director of Operations, Production Managers and Supervisors.

  • Act as strategic business partner and maintain a positive relationship with bargaining committee representatives by working to reduce grievances, when possible, and understanding and complying with the collective bargaining agreement

  • Lead or participate in the development, implementation and execution of company-wide policies/procedures including updating and making recommendations for new approaches that improve communications and efficiency of HR department and services performed.

  • Ensure compliance to company policies/procedures, laws, standards and government regulations.

  • Mentor others within the department

  • Work with departmental leaders to determine staffing needs through People and Structure exercises.¬  Train and counsel hiring managers on how to use strong selection criteria when identifying talent.¬ 

  • Facilitate positive employee relations and address employees' performance issues.

  • Maintain affirmative action records, reports, and logs to conform to EEO regulations.

  • Participate in updating compensation plans and ensure that management has submitted or updated job descriptions, if necessary.

  • Ensure monthly HR reports are maintained and submitted, as needed.

  • Maintain Human Resources Information System records for new employees, changes, leaves of absence, and terminations.

  • Maintain direct and indirect involvement with employees as the HR business partner.¬  Communicate issues / employee feedback with Director of Operations, VP of Operations and VP of HR when warranted.¬ 

  • Schedule and oversee employee functions such as service awards banquet, annual picnic, etc.

  • Responsible for scheduling and administering wellness programs, blood drives, etc.

  • Participate in Annual Benefit Enrollment meetings, monthly Dover HR webinars, and stay current on all benefit & wellness plans and offerings.¬ 

  • Responsible for the coordination and strategy of Workers Compensation programs and data.

  • Oversee the on-site HealthStat Clinic and ensure proper use by employees.¬ 

  • Responsible for working with managers through employee discipline process when warranted.¬  Make termination recommendations to VP of HR when needed.

  • Responsible for the implementation of any workforce reductions as approved by Manufacturing Management or as directed by VP of HR.

  • Other job related duties as assigned.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:



  • Some labor relations experience required.

  • Strategic mindset and ability to strategically partner with all levels of the organization, as needed.

  • Must be able to successfully manage the HR function for multiple facilities.¬ 

  • Ability to manage and administer a broad range of tasks including resolving complaints, partnering and counseling managers / employees on the interpretation of policies and procedures.



  • Knowledge of the principles and practices, human resources management, and supervision.

  • Ability to prepare written reports and correspondences, and presentations as required.

  • Ability to build and maintain positive relationships internally and externally.

  • Knowledge of applicable state and federal employment, labor laws, and governmental compliance requirements, knowledge of immigration laws and processes a plus.

  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills.

  • Extensive knowledge of information technology, including hardware and software applications, used in the Human Resources function.

  • Proven leadership.

  • Ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions in a manner consistent with the essential job functions.

  • Able to work under own initiative with minimal amount of guidance.

  • Must be empathetic, a good listener, and exercise consistent and fair treatment of all team members.

  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Products.

  • Must be able to travel a minimum of 30%.¬

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:¬ 



  • Bachelors Degree in Human Resources, Business Management, Management, Psychology, or a related field.¬  Masters Degree is a plus.

  • 7+ years of hands on HR Generalist level experience (in a manufacturing environment) preferred.

  • Must have experience working with HRIS/HRMS Software. Kronos, ADP, and Success Factors experience is a plus.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
